Also, if you know of anyone or are asked by anyone about local beekeeping or the Bee Club, please refer them here to the BC Peace Region Bee Club website and encourage them to review this Join Us page.

While most of the information and resources on this site are openly available to the general public, there are some sections that are not. Here are benefits to joining the Bee Club.

Membership Benefits: Membership grants you access to Bee Club meetings, inclusion in Club communications and updates, admission to workshops and field days activities, member discussion forums, outdoor social functions, education sessions, participation in Club programs, and more ....

The requirements: for bee club membership are quite simple. To join the club, you ............

  1. Have an interest for honeybees and beekeeping.

  2. Are seeking to associate, converse, learn, share knowledge, and gain experiences with people who have common interests.

  3. Reside in and actually have bees in the Peace Region. OR you are newly starting out at your beekeeping journey and have made arrangements and preparations towards having bees this season. When you have taken steps to go from an interest in bees to being a beekeeper locally, join us.

  4. COSTS: Membership is FREE. There are NO Bee Club fees. The Bee Club operates on a BY members FOR members basis. Meaning volunteerism. When there are costs incurred those are approached on a by use, as needed basis. For example participants of workshops and field days activities will be asked to contribute to the costs of those events. Also, the Bee Club will periodically request donations from members to cover materials for meeting presentations, administration supplies, or access to media such as this exceptional website.

  5. Beekeeping in BC is a regulated activity. ALL beekeepers in British Columbia no matter whether one hive or 10000, are strongly encouraged to register with the BC Ministry as soon as they have bees. It is a very simple and FREE process with no prerequisites. There is no test to pass. The point is that It is the Law under the BC Bee Regulation. So, if you have bees click the link to get that done. It will take you 5 minutes to do: BC Beekeeper Registration

  6. The purpose of any association or club is for people to get together to have extraordinary shared experiences. Joining is free, but there are basic expectations of you when you join. All that you must bring is your smile, enthusiasm, and intentions to participate in Club discussion and activities. It is OK to be shy; most beekepers are! They tend to like bees alot more than they like people. Yes, our lives do get busy and we cannot be everywhere nor do everything. That is fine too! Just participate wherever you can and as often as you can.

  7. BCHPA membership is not a requirement to participate as a member of the BC Peace Region Bee Club. Though in addition to joining the Peace Region Bee Club, Beekeepers with multiple colonies (eg 10+) whom are fairly established should also consider a membership with the BC Honey Producers Association (BCHPA). The purpose and benefits of BCHPA are explained at the pages of the BCHPA website. Links to BCHPA are provided below for people to go see what the BCHPA has to offer and to decide if BCHPA membership is also right for them.

How to Join the BC Peace Region Bee Club: you can joint at anytime; 24/7-365. To join the BCPR Bee Club, or to renew or to update your membership fill out the JOIN US form linked here. In the request you must include accurate information so we can get you involved as quickly and as smoothly as possible. A Bee Club coordinator will get back to you via email to get you set up.
